We believe that words have an impact in the world. The language and ways we express contain the story that we carry with ourselves. What if we explore ways of communicating with others that unlock defenses? And what about emotions? Our emotions are a key to understand what do we need, what do we want to say and because of that we can understand others. Understanding is the beautiful and necessary step before expressing ourselves. We believe that in political participation and community building these are key concepts to create a peaceful society. We will explore conflict in our local communities and it´s link to interpersonal conflicts, emotional literacy, non violent conflict transformation and tools for community building.

Our objectives are:

-To gain a better understanding of the concepts of Peace, diverse forms of violence, conflict, non-violence and culture of peace.

-To understand the importance of nonviolent conflict transformation, the variety of strategies to approach conflict and its links to the context of human rights.

-To empower participants to participate and build healthy and peaceful communities at their local level

-To develop skills in emotional literacy, non violent communication and active listening

-To map and analyse the realities of the participants on how interpersonal conflict and violence affect local communities

-To facilitate the process of designing at least 6 follow-up activities aiming to transform local conflicts by using community building and peaceful political participation tools

-To create a recommendations document including the framework of competencies for youth leaders to build sustainable communities and teams
