COMPASS

Training Course

11-19 May 2022 | PORONIN, Poland

The goal of the "Compass" project is to improve the competences and to educate youth workers in the field of healthy and active lifestyle and sport, and to equip them with innovative tools for working with young people.

According to a Eurobarometer survey (2018) on sports and physical activities, 58% citizens of the European Union have never practiced or practiced sports or did so rarely. 41 percent exercise only once a week. The results confirm that actions are necessary to be taken. We need to encourage more people to include sport and physical activity in daily activities. This is important, not only for individual health, well-being and integration in society, but also because the lack of physical activity generates significant costs for individual countries that need to spend on citizens' treatment.

The goal of the "Compass" project is to improve the competences and to educate of youth workers in the field of healthy and active lifestyle and sport, and to equip them with innovative tools for working with young people. The goal will be achieved by:
- Raising awareness about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and about the consequences if its neglected;
- Sharing good practices related to physical activity and healthy habits and their impact on improving the quality of life of young people in Europe;
- Training youth workers on strategies and actions to address the challenges of a lack of willingness to live a healthy lifestyle among young people / society as a whole;
- Equipping youth workers with the necessary knowledge and tools such as orienteering and outdoor as a method of working with young people;
-Cooperation between youth organizations and involvement of young people from local communities;
-Building new initiatives in the field of active lifestyles for young people and sport under the Erasmus + program.

The target group of the project are people working with young people (they are professionals or volunteers) who are looking for new solutions for taking up the topic of healthy and active life and sport as well as have the motivation and ability to develop projects for young people on health and an active lifestyle, and are willing to develop and share their professional and personal competences, express pro-active ideas and contribute to the dissemination and dissemination of project results, know English at a good level. This project also involves youth workers with fewer opportunities. In each team we give a chance to participate 50% of people representing this group.
