CitiZEN - exploring European dimension in youth projects
CitiZEN is designed for people who have already organised their (international) youth project (or plan to do so in near future) and who want to make sure they are able to tackle the European dimension and citizeship in their actual work with young people.
Have you ever wondered how to tackle topics like European dimension, Active citizenship or civic Key Competence in your project? Have you spent long days (or nights) thinking what they actually mean when preparing your project application? Were you not sure how to describe these in words, although you intuitively felt there is something like that going on in your projects?
CitiZEN - exploring European dimension in youth projects is designed for people who have already organised their (international) youth project (or plan to do so in near future) and who want to make sure they are able to tackle these topics in their actual work with young people.
AIM:
To enhance the quality of youth projects submitted under the Erasmus+:Youth in Action Programme.
Objectives:
- to deepen the understanding of concepts of active citizenship and European dimension;
- to develop participants' competences in planning working with these topics in their projects;
- to share good practices and to provide methods of working on these topics with young people.
By the end of the training course the participants will understand:
- what European citizenship and European dimension in the context of Erasmus+:Youth in Action means;
- why it is important to think about it while organizing YiA/E+ projects;
- how to work on this topic with young people and how to empower their learning process;
- how to use the issued publication HARE - Me the citizen of Europe.
Methodology
The course will be based on the principles and practice of non-formal education taking into account participants needs, motivations and experiences. The group will act as a resource for the learning process taking into account individual and group learning. Space will be given for regular feedback and review.
The concept of this training course is based on a successful national training module and a publication on the topic developed by the Czech National Agency of the Youth in Action Programme.
