E-learning

27-30 March 2023 | online, Greece

Online training with a focus on the following topics: misinformation, teachers participation in EU policies creation, active citizenships, value of voting in representative democracy, using new tools for e-democracy.

The online training is designed to equip teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively promote and advocate for democracy in their classrooms. The main objective of the training is to raise awareness about the importance of voting and e-democracy, and to inspire teachers with a better understanding of the values and threats to liberal democracy in the European Union.

Throughout the training, participants will be introduced to a range of topics, including the principles of democracy, the role of voting in a democratic society, and the impact of e-democracy on political participation. They will also learn about the various challenges that threaten liberal democracy in the EU and how to address them effectively.

The training will be delivered through a combination of interactive online sessions, presentations, and group discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with expert trainers and fellow educators, and to share their own experiences and insights.

By the end of the training, teachers will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to promote democracy and encourage active citizenship among their students. They will have a better understanding of the values that underpin liberal democracy in the EU and be better equipped to address the challenges that threaten it.

The Capacity Building will be held online, we kindly ask you to choose one of the following dates:

- 27th of March from 15.00 to 18.00 CET
- 30th of March from 15.00 to 18.00 CET

AP8 is a project funded by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), CERV-2022-CITIZENS-CIV, Citizens’ engagement and participation strand. The partnership is composed by three European organizations, CESIE (Italy, coordinator), ERASMUS STUDENT NETWORK (ESN) Dubrovnik (Croatia) and ACTIVE CITIZENS PARTNERSHIP (Greece). The goals of AP8 are the following:

- to develop an interest in and commitment for active citizenship participation and strengthen
capacities among youth and stakeholders (teaching staff, NGOs, youth workers and policy makers)
- to strengthen democratic participation, citizens’ empowerment and fostering inclusion of citizens
in the EU
- to raise awareness among the new generation and strengthening democratic participation amongyouth, especially encouraging young people to participate in elections 2024 and getting deeper understanding of EP and EU structure.

Upon completion of the online training, a certificate of attendance will be sent to all participants. This certificate will serve as evidence of their participation in the training and can be used for professional development purposes. The certificate will include the participant's name, the name of the training program, the duration of the training, and any other relevant information. We hope that this certificate will be a valuable asset for participants as they continue their professional development and advocate for democracy in their classrooms and communities.
