Study Visit
21-25 March 2022 | Jyväskylä, Finland
This study visit is cancelled / postponed! We are planning a new date for this study visit, so please check SALTO training calendar in upcoming weeks for a new event.
This study visit will give participants a thorough understanding of One Stop Guidance Centers in Finland, which were identified by the European Commission as a best practice in the European Union when it comes to supporting young people's education, training and employment.
One-Stop Guidance Centers are meant for all persons under the age of 30. Whether the issue is big or small, or whether young person is in need of quick information or long-term guidance – One-Stop Guidance Center is always the right place to go. One-Stop Guidance Centers offer assistance with various issues related to young person’s own life, such as studying, finding employment, housing and welfare. The services provided by the One-Stop Guidance Centers and the professionals who work in the centers vary slightly between localities.
This study visit will give participants understanding of different models of youth multi-service centers in Finland. The overall objective of all these centers is to strengthen the social inclusion of young people, to eradicate poverty among young people and to improve their employability and performance.
In this study visit you will learn how these centers bring together the expertise and skills of different professionals from different sectors in Finland, and how they are coordinated in a national level. We will visit the local One-Stop Guidance Center in city of Jyväskylä where the study visit is taking place. The study visit will also be an opportunity to discover different methods and practices, as well as to develop new Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps project ideas and partnerships.
This Study Visit is part of the Youth@Work Partnership, alongside other projects tackling youth employability and entrepreneurship, organised by the 16 member Erasmus+ National Agencies and SALTO-YOUTH Resource Centres. You can learn more about Youth@Work at www.youthatworkpartnership.org and on our social media channels (please check the programme of the event for the links).
This study visit contributes to Youth@Work's objective of creating a platform for practice sharing and partnership-building in order to better support young people's employability and entrepreneurship across Europe and Neighbouring Partner Regions.
Applicants from the fields of youth employment and youth work sector.
Youth work sector means working directly with young people outside the formal education institutions. The participants are expected to present an organization organizing activities that enhance youth employability.
Applicants with great personal interest, but no relevant link to actual youth work and employment field are not encouraged to apply. The study visit aims for professional and organizational development, not self-development for self-interest.
