Building Capacity for Crisis Response in Youth Work: Learning from Ukrainian Youth Inclusion

Seminar

9 April 2026 | Online, Latvia

This international experience sharing webinar will explore what youth workers and youth organisations need to know and be ready for when welcoming, supporting, and meaningfully including young people with migration / war related experience.

We will learn from organisations that have successfully engaged and supported young people from Ukraine, focusing on the most common support methods and on strengthening organisational capacity to offer not only practical help, but also community inclusion, meaningful participation, and emotional support.

What to expect?

The webinar will open with a keynote input from an expert on inclusive participation and supporting young people with fewer opportunities - in this case, young people with migration / war‑related experience.

You will also have the chance to learn from organisations that have successfully provided support and ensured meaningful involvement of young people from Ukraine in their activities. We will hear experience stories from Ukrainian young people who have received support.

Together with all speakers and participants, we aim to arrive at shared conclusions on what organisations need - skills, knowledge, approaches, and attitudes - to confidently welcome and include Ukrainian youth.

Who can participate?

This webinar is open to a diverse audience, including:

  • Youth workers, trainers and other education practitioners mainly from the Baltic states - but if you are not from the Baltics, you are very welcome to join
  • Policymakers and decision-makers
  • Anyone interested in inclusion and support for young people

Whether you work within Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps, or related fields, this webinar offers relevant insights and practical inspiration for your work and beyond.

By participating in this webinar, you will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of inclusion and receiving support from the perspective of young people with lived experience of migration or war
  • Gain a deeper understanding of inclusion and giving support from the perspective of organisations that involve and support young people from Ukraine
  • Connect with others committed to supporting Ukrainian youth or young people with migration/war-related experience
  • Contribute to a shared knowledge base as part of a long-term strategic initiative
