Bridges for Trainers 2016

Seminar

28 November - 1 December 2016 | Vienna, Austria

Bridges for Trainers offers a platform to debate trends and hot issues related to training in the youth field – national and international. In 2016 Bridges will provide a space to discuss current challenges of societies and their effects on young people!
Trainers and training providers with existing training strategies for trainers at national or international level are invited to come to Vienna and discuss with the community the current challenges at European level and their effects on young people and societies - of course in their role as trainers and training providers connecting the needs and challenges of young people nowadays and of local youth work in different contexts. The main intentions for Bridges for Trainers 2016 are: - to reflect on the political dimension of trainers work in relation to current challenges of political strategies/policies, on one hand, and of local realities of youth work and the needs of young people on the other, - to update on and collect feedback to recent developments within the European Training Strategy (ETS), the manual on how to work with the ETS trainer competence model and on the RAY capacity building research project, - to introduce the ETS competence model for youth workers to work internationally, and - to encourage networking and exchange with other trainers and training providers Bridges for Trainers 2016 is organised and financed by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action NAs of Austria, Germany, Poland, Turkey and SALTO Training and Cooperation Resource Centre and will be moderated by Alexandra Beweis (AT) and Darko Markovic (RS). It will take place from 28 Nov - 01 Dec 2016 in Vienna/Austria and will gather ca. 140 participants with the following profiles: - Trainers experienced in youth worker and youth leader training (national and international level – attention: no trainers training only young people!), - Training course providers implementing training strategies for trainers (organisations/institutions), and - Erasmus+: Youth in Action/SALTO RC staff cooperating with trainers and trainer pools. Bridges for Trainers 2016 will be based on the “ETS Competence model for trainers working at international level” developed in 2013 under the European Training Strategy (ETS) of the Youth in Action Programme. Now in 2016 an additional dimension dealing with the political aspect of the trainers work will be discussed during the conference. Bridges for Trainers serves as a platform to explore next steps to be undertaken in the ETS development and to reflect on what role Erasmus+: Youth in Action could play in this. It is a bi-annual conference concept bringing together experienced trainers, training providers and Erasmus+: Youth in Action NA/SALTO RC staff working with trainers / trainer pools to reflect on trends and core issues in the youth field and effects on the work of trainers. Bridges for Trainers should take place again in Autumn/Winter 2018 and 2020 and is an activity linked to the context of the European Training Strategy of Erasmus+: Youth in Action. More information on additional planned offers for trainers can be found at www.salto-youth.net/tcdproject, the long term cooperation project of 8 NAs and SALTO T&C RC.
