Bodies in Migration

Training Course

4-10 October 2026 | Simiane-La-Rotonde , France

What if the body could speak where words fall short? A 5-day experiential training for everyone walking alongside young people with a migration background — experimenting and getting equipped with body-based tools inspired by dance and art therapy.

Bodies in Migration brings together 25 participants from France, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Romania — all walking alongside young migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. The training takes place in a gîte in the Luberon (South of France), in a natural and peaceful setting, where the collective organisation of daily life is intentionally designed to support the learning process.

Main program elements

The training combines experiential and reflective learning through:

  • Dance therapy and body movement methods
  • Art therapy tools (drawing and writing)
  • Reflective spaces : sharing circles, self-assessments and group debriefs, to analyse facilitation posture and adapt methods to local realities
  • Co-facilitation sessions, where participants experience the facilitation of the tools in small groups
  • Collective and participatory organisation to foster cohesion
  • Evenings of sharing

What you will take away

  • New methodological skills in facilitating creative and artistic workshops adapted to vulnerable groups, particularly young migrants, integrating body-based and sensory practices from dance and art therapy
  • A deeper awareness of your professional posture — questioning your practices, reflecting on your role in promoting inclusion and diversity, and learning through experience
  • Strengthened skills in communication, mediation and critical reflection, essential for working with young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Practical approaches to facilitate safer and more inclusive spaces, adapted to young people who may have experienced trauma
