Beyond Mobility - Expanding the Impacts of Volunteering

Partnership-building Activity

16-20 March 2026 | Idrija, Slovenia

LAST CALL: Beyond Mobility is an Erasmus+ KA1 mobility for youth workers focused on creating deeper, lasting impact through international volunteering, peer learning, and collaboration beyond physical mobility.

Beyond Mobility: Expanding the Impacts of Volunteering is an Erasmus+ KA1 - Mobility for Youth Workers project designed to rethink how international volunteering can create deeper, longer-lasting value for volunteers, organizations, and local communities.

The mobility will consist of a diverse mix of activities, including seminars, study visits, capacity-building sessions, the exchange of good practices, collaborative brainstorming, and peer learning, all aimed at strengthening cooperation and expanding long-term collaboration between participating organizations beyond the activity itself.

Building on long-term cooperation between partner organizations, the project responds to a shared question: how can we strengthen volunteers’ sense of belonging and expand the impact of volunteering beyond the limited timeframe of physical mobility? Our answer lies in a holistic approach that connects people, processes, and innovation.

The mobility will be taking place from 16–20 March 2026 at the Youth Center Idrija, bringing together experienced ESE coordinators, mentors, and decision-makers from 5–8 organizations across Europe. Through peer learning, reflection, and hands-on collaboration, participants will analyse the entire volunteer lifecycle - from promotion and preparation to mentoring, follow-up, and long-term engagement after the mobility ends.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experienced ESC coordinators or mentors with practical knowledge of hosting or sending volunteers
  • Organizations holding ESC accreditation (hosting and/or sending)
  • Representatives who are involved in the full volunteer process and motivated to improve its quality and impact
  • Organizations interested in long-term cooperation and developing volunteering beyond mobility

The program combines:

  • in-depth exchange of methods and good practices between organizations,
  • visits to organizations outside the youth and volunteering sector to gain fresh inspiration,
  • collaborative development of innovative and sustainable tools that strengthen volunteer learning, inclusion, and community impact.

Participants will develop a strategic perspective on volunteer management, gain deeper insight into the social, educational, and community impact of international volunteering, and build strong partnerships for future cooperation and funding opportunities. Special emphasis is placed on empowering organizations to implement real changes after the activity and to commit to continued collaboration.

Ultimately, Beyond Mobility is not just about improving mobility projects - it is about creating volunteering experiences that foster belonging, mutual learning, and meaningful impact that lasts well beyond the mobility itself.
