The overall aim of the project Training course is to support and equip youth workers with knowledge, key competences and employable tools that are needed to act as inclusive agents and enhance integration of young refugees and migrants.

Short summary of the project:

The overall aim of the project Training course on sharing, inventing and exploring non-formal learning methods and tools for supporting inclusion of young people with culturally diverse background especially migrants, refugees, minorities and Roma (Better Together) is to support and equip youth workers with knowledge, key competences and employable tools that are needed to act as inclusive agents in their local communities and enhance the human and socio-professional integration of young refugees and migrants.

Objectives:

  • To strengthen the knowledge, key competences and employable tools of youth workers who work with and for young refugees in using innovative approaches to deal with arrival assistance and trauma, development of interpersonal skills, active participation, orientation and social inclusion of refugees in EU countries.
  • To empower the role of youth workers as positive agents for social change and inclusive growth in multicultural communities in the EU countries.
  • To share good practices related to youth work, social inclusion and active participation of young refugees in EU countries.
  • To increase transnational cooperation, exchange of good practices and capacity building between 11 organizations and 44 youth workers that are active in the field of migration, youth and social inclusion in EU countries.
  • To develop an informal network of youth workers promoting follow up projects and initiatives at both local and European level.
  • To explore possible future cooperation and partnership among the members of consortium according to the proposal of the new Erasmus+ programme in order to sustain the high-quality work with culturally diverse young people.

The methodology of the training course: The project is focused on intercultural learning and the use of non-formal education. It includes learning tools that can be used in the context of youth work with young refugees, supporting inclusive agents in the process of being as supportive as needed for young people with diverse cultural background. Learning methods and approaches include: cooperative and intercultural learning, reflection exercises, pitches, (small) group discussions, dialogue, ice breakers, energisers, team building games, brainstorming, buzz groups, role playing, analysis of case studies, networking, drama education and theatre of the oppressed facilitated by experienced international trainers’ team. The non-formal learning methodology will be learner centered and Youthpass learning process will be integrated into each phase of the project.

Participants: 44 participants from Cyprus, France, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, Czechia, Romania, Germany, Poland, Portugal and Latvia.
