Training Course
21-25 September 2026 | Rome, Italy
Description
Have you just completed your mobility project with young people and you are so excited by the incredible results you've achieved that you can't wait to improve your skills to develop further projects? Or have you been carrying out youth mobility projects for years and have realized that the time has come to make the necessary qualitative leap to also grow within your local context and in your relationship with local young people?
If you believe in the importance of acquiring new skills to improve your work with young people and the quality of your project design in KA1, this is the training for you.
This course was born from the question: how can we make sure that we are aligning our practices with the priorities and values required by the Program? How can we make sure that our learning objectives related to these values are concretely reached through our activity? We want to reply to this question and to promote these principles through a participatory, experiential, and learner-centred learning experience for all.
Our KA1 international learning mobilities have to be implemented with non-formal learning methodologies. The commitment of all actors throughout the process is a key factor to have quality results. The more young people are involved in the process, the more they learn through their involvement.
This training aims to foster quality practices in different aspects of the project: youth participation, equal partnership, learning design, impact & dissemination; learning how to build young people quality learning experiences with them — not for them.
For those who want to update their practices
If you and your organization want to foster your level of quality in implementing the KA1 project, you are the participant we are looking for. Also, if you are experienced and/or interested in making your practices more participative, the training is good for you.
You must be working directly with young people, so that you can implement the learned skills to work with them. This is not a training for an administrator or someone who writes applications alone in the office. We welcome beginners, experts and all profiles in between. What counts is that you’re open to learning more about fostering quality in KA1 activities, and implementing what you learnt in your daily practice(s).
This course is designed for youth workers, youth leaders, NGO representatives, and project coordinators working directly with young people who:
Are at least 18 years old;
Are actively working with young people;
Are motivated to organise or improve youth mobility projects;
Are ready to learn and work in an experiential, non-formal learning environment.
The working language of the course will be English. Your English does not need to be perfect, but you should be able to follow the programme and actively participate in discussions and activities. The facilitators are not native English speakers themselves.
Objectives
This Training Course is designed to achieve the following objectives:
• To familiarise participants with non-formal and intercultural learning and explore how to apply their principles throughout the design and implementation of youth projects.
• To reflect on the key quality elements of non-formal learning mobility projects and explore how to foster quality in Erasmus+ KA1 activities.
• To provide space for participants to share their youth work experiences, projects, and good practices, inspiring each other's future work.
• To better understand how participants’ organisations and local communities can benefit from active youth participation, non-formal learning, and youth mobility.
Methods and methodology
This training aims to foster quality practices in different aspects of the project: youth participation, equal partnership, learning design, impact & dissemination; learning how to build young people quality learning experiences with them — not for them.
The TC will develop through a different set of non-formal methodologies in order to directly involve participants in a dynamic learning space.
