Training Course
4 November - 1 December 2026 | Blended (Online & Málaga), Spain
How can we talk about climate change with young people in a way that invites them to take part, think, debate and act?
Are We Playing with Our Future? is a free, practice-based blended training course for youth workers, youth leaders, educators in youth and social organisations, environmental educators and teachers working with young people. Participants will explore playful and participatory methodologies to address climate action with young people, learn from real experiences and leave with tools and criteria to apply in their own work.
Programme
Online sessions (17:00–19:00 CET), 25 participants:
In-person session in Málaga, Spain, Tuesday 1 December 2026 (11:00–14:00):
Online participants are invited to play CLIMATIC, an educational role-play game on climate change. Afterwards they will reflect on the experience and on how to transfer the methodology to youth work and educational settings. Travel costs are covered for 15 selected participants (see “Travel reimbursement”).
European follow-up: Transnational Exchange of the GAME ON Community of Practice in Ptuj, Slovenia (programme 25–27 January 2027, travel days 24 and 28 January):
Two fully funded places are offered to participants who have completed the course. The exchange brings together 20 teachers and educators from Bulgaria, Italy, Slovenia and Spain and is held in English, so sufficient fluency in English is required.
Methodology
The course combines short inputs, real case studies and hands-on play. It draws on tools developed by Coglobal and its partners, including CLIMATIC, Clima sin Filtro and Empaville.
Who can apply
People who work with children and young people in schools, youth and social organisations, public administrations or as independent facilitators of educational or participatory processes. People who have a real context in which to apply what they learn with young people can also apply. Requirements:
Priority is given to applicants based in Spain. Applicants from Italy are also welcome. Participation in the webinar “Verdad, bulo y ahora ¿qué?” counts as an additional merit.
Selection
Selection is based on work with young people, motivation, real opportunities to apply the learning and commitment to complete the course. It also aims for diversity of profiles, territories, gender and contexts, including work with young people with fewer opportunities. A certificate is issued to those who attend and actively participate in the three online sessions.
Key dates
This activity is part of the Erasmus+ project GAME ON for Climate Action (2025-1-IT02-KA220-SCH-000357540), coordinated by Istituto Oikos (Italy).
