This course explores the intersection of inclusion and connective communication We will look at how to create environments where everyone feels they belong and how to use communication tools to build bridges between people from diverse backgrounds.

The programme is based on principles of non-formal education and includes: 

  • Experiential learning 
  • Critical and reflective exploration 
  • Collaborative learning and co-creation 

When: 26 april - 1 may 2026

Where: Vorselaar, Belgium. A rural village in Belgium on a big terrain of the training venue, right in nature

Who: All people (older than 18) who work regularly with young people and are interested in inclusion of and communictation with young people. 

What will you gain by participating in this training course?

  • A practical toolkit: you go home with concrete methodologies from connective communication that you can use immediately.
  • Your own action plan: you do not stop at theory; you develop a plan specifically tailored to the needs of your own youth work and organization.
  • Greater confidence: you feel stronger in discussing difficult themes such as exclusion and prejudice with young people.
  • NFE-expertise: you expand your skills as a facilitator, making your workshops accessible to a broader and more diverse audience.
  •  An international network: you gain access to new perspectives and practical examples from other youth workers across Europe.
  • Up-to-date knowledge: you are aligned with current European standards and frameworks on inclusion in youth work.

Learning objectives:

1. I understand the theoretical framework of connective communication, also known as nonviolent communication, and can apply it in my daily practice.

2. I can clearly explain the difference between inclusion and other related concepts (such as integration) to others.

3. I created a concrete action plan to lower barriers within my own daily work and organization.

4. I strengthened my NFE skills required to make workshops more accessible to all sorts of participants.

5. I know how to effectively transfer the topic of inclusion with young people.

6. I can guide youth to act more consciously and inclusively in various situations.

7. I actively shared ideas, best practices and cultural perspectives on the topic of inclusion within an international environment to build our collaboration.

8. I have a clear overview of the EU youth strategy regarding inclusion in youth work.
