A 6-working days Training Course for Accompanying persons and Team leaders that support participants with intellectual disabilities during their mobility projects.

THE PROJECT

The project ‘ALL ABOARD! – Empowering Youth Workers in Inclusive Mobility Projects for People with Intellectual Disabilities’ is a KA1 Mobility of Youth Workers project, co-financed by Erasmus+ Programme through the Italian National Agency AIG – Agenzia Italiana per la Gioventù.

The main objective of ‘ALL ABOARD!’ is to increase the quality of youth work for participants with intellectual disabilities in mobility projects. To reach this main objective, we aim to develop the knowledge and competences of youth workers in the different roles of a mobility project, with a focus on inclusiveness for participants with intellectual disabilities.

PARTICIPANT'S PROFILE

This TRAINING COURSE is focused on ACCOMPANYING PERSONS and TEAM LEADERS that support participants with intellectual disabilities during their mobility projects, such as youth exchanges, ESC volunteering, etc. 

It is not a training course on how to assist daily a person with intellectual disabilities. This Training Course aims to give tools and knowledge to those who already work with the target group but wants to deepen the knowledge on how to support them better during a mobility abroad.

THE LEARNINGS

Some of the learnings will be reach by addressing the topics:

  • what is non-formal education
  • what are the European programmes available for the target group
  • what is a mobility project
  • what is the role and responsibilities of an accompanying person during a mobility project
  • how to give autonomy and independence to your participant, while supporting him/her
  • how to support the learning process

THE PROGRAMME

The programme includes:

  • introduction of the programme, get to know each other games, team building activities, and learning goals,
  • non-formal education and European Programmes,
  • Accompanying in mobility projects,
  • Experiences' Board (sharing experiences, living library, visit to local organisation and cultural learning)
  • Problems & Solutions
  • Harvesting, reflection, evaluation and closing.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

It will happen between 10th and 17th May 2026, during 6 full working days. 

The venue will be 20km from the city of Panevezys (Lithuania) in a forest environment.

Participants will share rooms and bathrooms, in double, triple or multiple rooms (no single rooms are available). 

REQUIREMENTS

Good level of understanding and communication in English.

Residents in one of the Countries: Lithuania, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Hungary, Malta, Greece, Latvia, Austria or Portugal. 

The selection will be done also by the Sending Organisation from your Country of residence.

Accommodation and food are covered.

Travel reimbursement

Travel costs reimbursed until the maximum established by the distance band calculator of Erasmus+. The indicators are:

  • Lithuania, max. € 56 (if Green Travel and more than 10km distance)
  • Latvia, max. € 285 (if Green Travel)
  • Austria, Italy, Hungary, Greece, Sweden, max. € 309
  • Portugal, Spain and Malta, max. € 395
