Accreditation and beyond: developing European volunteer projects

Training Course

12-15 June 2018 | Birmingham, United Kingdom

Are you an accredited organisation that never quite made the next step towards European volunteer projects? Or perhaps you’ve started on your European volunteering projects but encountered challenges with your first projects or the accreditation process?
If so, then this two-step training course is the support you have been waiting for! Whether you have encountered difficulties relating to access to information, accreditation, resources to support volunteers, skills in volunteer management or finding suitable volunteers and / or partner organisations, this project can support you to overcome these limitations. This four-day international training course will address these limitations as well as increase your professional network and experience in international youth work. It is aimed at re-engaging, supporting and connecting those who might have set out on the journey towards delivering European volunteering projects but have perhaps lost their way when the road became a little rocky! The two steps to this project are: Step 1: Preparation to re-introduce the aims, values and role of organisations in European volunteering. Participants will gain a refreshed and clear understanding of what European volunteering is and how they may use it for their organisation. The aim of this first step is to empower and prepare you and your organisations for international volunteering/youth work, and to revive the initial motivation that led to applications for accreditation. Further information will be confirmed following selection. Step 2: International training course in Birmingham, 12-15 June 2018. This training course will bring together organisations from different countries. Participants will develop a common understanding of funding quality criteria and will make partnerships for future projects. This international level will motivate you and your organisations through the identification of common needs and development of your contact base, with a view to creating sustainable partnerships. This will also introduce the European Solidarity Corps. Step 3: Follow up webinar Around 3 months after the training, we will arrange a webinar to follow up on your volunteer project progress, any funding applications or further support that you might need after the information and guidance from the training has turned in to real life practice. For the reference of applicants, this call understands Erasmus+ volunteering to refer to the European Voluntary Service and future volunteer activities such as through the European Solidarity Corps.
