A Green Europe: European Year of Youth

E-learning

19 September 2022 | Germany

This interactive webinar provides frameworks around supporting youth in sustainability and climate advocacy; helps guide sustainable project management; and shares best practices for arts-based and entrepreneurship approaches in youth climate work.

YEPP EUROPE is excited to announce a series of three webinars as part of the European Year of Youth (EYY). Each webinar will focus on one of the three main topics of the EYY: Creating a greener, more inclusive and digital Europe. Each interactive webinar session highlights the importance of young people in shaping Europe’s future and provides an opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and competences relevant to supporting young people in their civic engagement and professional development.

This first webinar, "A Green Europe" (September 19th, 12-1PM CET), will introduce frameworks around sustainability in youth work; provide guidance toward sustainable project management; and share best practices for arts-based and entrepreneurship approaches in youth climate work. The session will include the insight of young Europeans, project leaders and decision-makers actively engaged in climate and sustainability advocacy.

SPEAKERS:

Elke Führer works at JUGEND für Europa, the German National Agency for the EU youth programmes Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps. For 10 years she has helped young people, youth workers and youth organisations to implement projects with different goals but a common focus: to make a positive difference in their lives and communities across Europe.

Jelena Bračun is an artist and educator who works at the Croatian Association of Fine Artists (HDLU) as a project manager for EU and national funds. She is also the co-founder of the Association for the Promotion of Visual Culture (OPA) and founder of Art+, an artistic and creative production company. Jelena is a project leader in the Community Challengers project, strengthening youth participation, arts-based community development and green solutions in Zagreb's neighbourhoods.

Rudi Marković is a youth climate advocate on the Croatian team of the Community Challengers project. Rudi will share his experience and expertise around community-based activism, art and social entrepreneurship for local climate action.
