A place for life

• My project ?

My project is called "a place for life". It is a project for children, because they don't have any leisure time activities, so we have set up twelve clubs for them, like a chess club, a cooking club, a table-tennis club, and many others. We have been doing it for three years. About 100 children attend the clubs per week!

• The Outcome ?

I've learned a lot about how to lead groups of children. I feel much better now, because I believe that I am doing something useful for the community and for the children! The community benefits from it because we provide a place where the children have a lot of things to do in their leisure time, they don't have to hang around and be exposed to the risk of alcohol, drugs and so on.
We needed to raise a lot of money to rebuild the building where we are and get the equipment. At the time when we applied we were younger and the support of Youth Initiatives was very helpful. This was another achievement, to have set up something sustainable!
