Youth Work: Enhancing Employability?

This publication is the result of a reflection seminar of the role of youth work in leading young people (with fewer opportunities) to the labour market. Lots of food for thought.

What role can youth work play?

Does youth work have role to play in making (disadvantaged) young people ready for the labour market? The Slovenian national agency of the Youth in Action programme invited several experts to debate:

  • How can youth work help to tackle unemployment among young people?
  • How can youth work be recognised for its contribution?
  • Is professionalisation of youth work needed in order for it to perform
    this task?
  • How can youth work be further supported in order to deliver results?
  • What is the added value of international youth work in terms of increasing employability of young people?
  • How is learning mobility increasing working mobility?

You can find an overview of the obstacles to youth employment and reflections on the role of youth work to raise young people's employability in the report: Youth Work: Enhancing Employability
