Our White Sea IV: Youth participation in and throughout NGOs in the EuroMediterranean context.

The title of the meeting originated from the name attributed to the Mediterranean Sea by the Islamic World; Our Middle Sea and the by Romans; Mare Nostrum. The title itself reflects a blend of culture, ideas and traditions, which depicts the ideal scenario of the overall purpose of "Our White Sea IV".

The meeting is an unique opportunity to meet with colleagues in youth field from programme and Meda countries, to discover and discuss the challenges of youth participation in and throughght NGOs within EuroMed context.
Networking between organizations should be encouraged in order to proffer young people with opportunities to actively participate; thus stimulating initiative, innovation and entrepreneurship. Therefore, the event shall generate an environment to facilitate NGOs networking that supporting NGO capacity building in region.

Date: 3-7 December 2012 (arrival on 3rd and 7th departure)


Aims and objectives:


1. To explore issues and challenges of young people participation in NGOs and thought them in wider society;
2. Better understanding of the approaches to Youth Participation in NGOs and Associations ;
2. Sharing of good practice amongst NGO to stimulate opportunities for participation;
3. Facilitating the networking process among participants with the aim of promoting new projects.

 

Target group:
Representatives from experienced youth NGO's/Organisations that can contribute through the sharing of good practice. The invite shall also be extended to participants from emerging NGOs.
Youth workers and youth leaders active in promoting youth participation projects/initiatives.

Methodology:
The methodology will provide participants the possibility to tackle the content with the support of experts and experienced people. This will also serve as a vehicle to facilitate the sharing of experiences between participants. The working programme will consist of:
o Plenary sessions;
o Workshops led by participants and trainers;
o Active participation;
o Open market.

Organising Team


Our White Sea IV is organised by the Euro-Med Youth Platform in cooperation with Cyprus National Agency, SALTO Euro-Med R, Maltese and Greek National Agencies.

Costs:

This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course,accommodation (boarding and loadging) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by EuroMed Youth Platform.
Travel cost of Programme countries will be covered by their sending National Agencies.Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.

The travel cost of Meda participants will be covered by EuroMed Youth Platform (up to a certain limint, after the selection you will receive more information).
