Participation of Young people is one of the major topics of the European Youth in Action programme. On one hand, it is a horizontal priority that is implemented through all the various actions of the programme; on the other hand, in the Southern and Eastern shore of the Mediterranean sea, there is a strong will for young people to participate in public life and in all European exchange programmes.
The French National Agency in cooperation with the SALTO-YOUTH EuroMed and Participation Resource Centres and the South Cooperation Agencies Network of the Youth in Action programme will organise a conference aimed at debating on these realities and offering a platform for the youth actors to develop youth participation projects. This event will take place under the French Presidency of the European Union.

The main aim of this event is to reflect on the issue of Youth Participation in the European and Mediterranean context(s).

During this 3 days conference, the following elements will be considered:
This conference is initiated by the French National Agency of the Youth in Action programme, the Salto-Youth EuroMed and the Salto-Youth Participation Ressource Centres and is organised in partnership with the Greek, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Slovenian, Cypriot, Turkish and Maltese National Agencies of the Youth in Action Programme.
The conference "Youth Participation in EuroMed context(s)" will bring together raughly a hundred participants:
Each NA/EMYU will select their participants.
Young people, youth workers, Youth policy stakeholders having experience in Youth Participation (such as students councils, youth councils and public officers, elected representatives....)
The working language will be English (some supports will be provided in French)
The team is composed of 2 trainers experienced in Youth Participation and EuroMed cooperation.
Lodging and board will be covered by the South Cooperation Agencies Network of the Youth in Action programme.
MEDA participants: Travel & visas costs will be reimbursed up to 100% if the trip is done by the most economic way and on the basis of original tickets and invoices.
EU participants: Travel costs of participants coming from Programme Countries will covered by the sending National Agencies of YiA Programme according to their own rules.
Any insurance, especially medical is a private responsibility of each participant.
