An overview of the 2006 SALTO statistics

• The SALTO-YOUTH network of resource centres organised or coordinated (appr.) 48 courses and seminars in 2006 (45 in 2005, 40 in 2004) - for 34 of those, the SALTO online application & selection procedure was used (easier access, greater transparency, more efficient course management)
• the www.SALTO-YOUTH.net website was visited 721'487 times in 2006 (442'144 times in 2005, 274'051 visitor sessions in 2004) which is an average of about 2000 sessions per day (1211 in 2005, 750 in 2004) - this is an increase of 61% !
• in total these visitors viewed 3'471'007 pages (2'384'492 pages in 2005) which means an average of 9509 SALTO pages viewed per day (6533 in 2005), and on average 4,8 pages per visit (session).
• 192 activites were listed in the European Training Calendar (169 in 2005, 167 in 2004) and 207'049 searches were carried pit in this training calendar in 2006 (155'615 in 2005 = viewing www.salto-youth.net/find-a-training/) - this is an increase of 75%
• there are now 545 tools, methods and background texts in the Toolbox for Training (388 in 2005, 332 in 2004 - 175 added in 2006) and 113'362 searches were done in the Toolbox (64'909 searches in 2005 = viewing www.salto-youth.net/find-a-tool/) - an increase of 57% of searches
• There was a usual refreshment of the Trainers Online for Youth database (requesting an update of the TOY profile) in January 2006. By the end of 2006 there were 215 youth work trainers listed (210 end of 2005, 183 end 2004) and there were 57'347 searches in TOY (53'162 in 2005 = viewing www.salto-youth.net/find-a-trainer/)
• In 2006 SALTO offered 89 trainer positions to trainers in TOY - an increase of 62% compared to 2005 - see Call for Trainers
• information via the SALTO Newsletters reaches over 8800 readers in 2006 (7450 in 2005, 6500 in 2004) and new issues of the Meet'In EuroMed, Youth in Action or SeeYOUth magazines are published and distributed on a regular basis
• educational publications such as the new Inclusion for All Booklets, the Youth Initiatives Coaching Guide, the EuroMed Training Bag, the Peer Education booklet on Cultural Diversity etc.
• innovative initiatives such as the Youth Inclusion Forum, the Training Tool Fair, the YOUTH pass, target group specific information for inclusion etc.
• useful content for our visitors online like the 219'331 downloaded files from the SALTO site in 2006 (115'884 in 2005, 75.935 in 2004).
• and much much more to support you in your youth work !
