Who are we?

SALTO SEE supports cooperation in the youth field between Programme Countries and Partner countries in the Western Balkans in Erasmus+: Youth and the European Solidarity Corps.

Our work is focused on supporting the participation of young people, youth workers, organisations working with youth and other actors in the field of youth and non-formal education from Partner countries in the Western Balkans in the two European Union Youth programmes: Erasmus+: Youth and the European Solidarity Corps. We also support using the potential of international cooperation and European developments in youth work to strengthen the further development of youth work in the Western Balkan region.

Both programmes aim to contribute to promoting stability in the Western Balkans region by supporting the development of youth work and promoting multicultural awareness, tolerance and solidarity among young people. They are complimentary to other efforts of the European Union's enlargement policy stating the perspective of all Western Balkan countries joining the European Union in the future. In particular, the Programmes support learning mobility, the building of long-lasting partnerships, the exchange of youth work practices and capacity building between groups of young people, youth organisations, youth workers, youth leaders and other actors in the field of youth and non-formal education, from different countries in Europe.

Briefly about us

The SALTO-YOUTH South East Europe Resource Centre (more known as simply SALTO SEE Resource Centre) is a member of the network of SALTO-Youth Resource Centres. It is hosted by Slovenian National Agency for Erasmus+, youth chapter, and the European Solidarity Corps, MOVIT, in Ljubljana. We connect Programme countries and Partner countries in the Western Balkan region by offering support for enhancing co-operation to:

  • the network of National Agencies for Erasmus+: Youth and European Solidarity Corps and
  • youth organisations, youth leaders, youth workers and other actors in the field especially from Partner countries in the Western Balkans.

Our programme of activities is run with the support of pools of trainers and accreditors (for the Quality Label within ESC), as well as Contact Points located in the Western Balkan region. We closely work together with the European Commission (Directorate General Education and Culture, Youth Unit) and with other actors in the field of youth and non-formal education in Western Balkans and beyond, such as the Partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission in the youth field.
