Nina Koevoets

About:

n 2015 I set-up "Towards a Nonviolent World" , to organize training courses for youth workers. I assembeled the content from different sources. In 2014 I published The Peace Compass, that explains peacebuilding on the personal, interpersonal, social-cultural and environmental level. I focus on learning practical every-day-life skills, as well as understanding systemic issues.

Work experience

I've worked in (Israel-)Palestine, India and the USA and studied in Portugal, Sweden and The Netherlands. I'll list some (not all) my work experience below.

Holy Land Trust, Bethlehem
Writing project proposals, a volunteer manual, interviews, activity reports and information for the website (to create resources on nonviolence). I participated in many field-trips and also networked with different organisations in the area.

Center for Conflict Resolution and Human Security, New Delhi
I was assisting in organizing a lecture and seminar, creating a Newsletter, writing PR materials, and general support, helping to develop questionnaires for research on communal violence between Hindus and Muslims and joining a field trip to do interviews.

BayNVC -Bay Area Nonviolent Communication
Coordinating volunteers for a project to engage with people on the streets, and working on graphic design, promotion and assistance of a diversity retreat for BayNVC.
This was part of a traineeship from the Metta Center of Nonviolence in Berkeley that provided additional training next to the internship.

Workshop facilitator, in two organizations (NL).
Occasionally providing workshops in schools about stereotypes, identity and conflict and guiding youth at an interactive exhibition about the same topics. Also led an inter-faith dialogue group.
