- To have a personal reflection of the role / job of a rural youth worker
- To share common understanding of role / job of rural youth workers

Description of the tool

- In a first step the participants have a personal reflection on the following 4 questions (20 minutes):
• Why are you a youth worker?
• How do you respond to the existing challenges through your youth work? (best practises)
• How do you link your work with the local community and manage to change things there? / How are you changing things in your local community through youth work?
• Which needs of young people/local community does your youth work address/deal with?

- Afterwards to share the common understandings of the role of a rural youth worker, people exchange their personal reflections in a “4 corners discussion”:
• 1 Flipchart with 1 question in every corner (questions see above) + 1 secretary per corner (teamer)
• People choose freely one corner (have a look that people are evenly spread in the 4 corners) and discuss during 15 minutes about the question on the flipchart. The secretary writes down the main outcomes of the discussion (keywords) on the flipchart.
• After 15 minutes, the first round of discussion ends and people choose freely a new corner with the next question. The groups can be mixed up at every turn.
• …
• After 4 turns everybody has discussed on every question with different people

- Finally the secretaries present the posters in plenary and sum up the results of the discussion concerning he question of “their” corner.
