Boardgame
MosaiCity is an educational board game where players build an inclusive intercultural city together, developing empathy, communication, cooperation and understanding of diverse needs.
MosaiCity aims to:
develop empathy and perspective-taking by exploring the needs of diverse characters;
strengthen intercultural awareness and understanding;
develop communication, active listening and negotiation skills;
foster cooperation, teamwork and collective decision-making;
encourage critical thinking and problem-solving;
raise awareness of inclusion, diversity and different community needs;
promote civic participation and reflection on how inclusive communities can be built together.
MosaiCity is a city built by people from different cultures, backgrounds and life experiences. Like a mosaic, every person contributes a unique piece to the community. When these pieces come together, the city becomes stronger, more vibrant and more inclusive.
MosaiCity is an educational board game in which players take on the roles of diverse citizens and work together to build their shared city. Through different situations, proposals, questions and collective decisions, they explore different needs and perspectives, negotiate priorities and experience the challenges of creating a community where everyone can belong. At the same time, some players may secretly pursue their own interests, adding an element of strategy and excitement to the game.
The game was created within the Erasmus+ KA2 Small-Scale Partnership project InGameGration, which aims to strengthen youth workers’ competences in engaging young migrants through game-based learning and storytelling. MosaiCity can be used as a non-formal learning tool to foster empathy, intercultural understanding, inclusion, communication, cooperation, critical thinking and civic participation.
The game consists of a playing field, cards. Rules included. Facilitator's Guide is also available.
