General objective:
• We will develop a strategic partnership to support youth workers in the development and exchange of innovative and effective outdoor education methods for the benefit of the integration of marginalized young people from rural communities
Intellectual product:
• Practical guide about innovative outdoor education methods for the integration of marginalized young people.
Target group:
• Young people in rural areas affected by poverty, who face health problems and are subject to social exclusion
• Youth workers working with marginalized young people in rural areas affected by poverty with health problems
Need identified:
The project addresses the following 3 main needs
• Marginalization of young people living in poor rural areas compared to those in urban areas, in terms of access to social services, employment, health, education. By participating in outdoor activities, these young people can evaluate, measure their own strengths, overcome their fears, overcome their personal beliefs and learning difficulties, overcome social barriers, gain confidence in them, improve their health, and gain access on the labor market. (social competencies)
• Removing young people from nature, being deprived of learning through direct interaction with the elements of nature through investigation, research, real learning and practice. By participating in this type of outdoor learning, young people have the opportunity to manifest themselves freely, genuinely, naturally, uncensored by the formalism and rigidity of the school institutions; Outdoor education allows a high level of creativity / ingenuity both from the organizer, the coordinator and from the participants in terms of designing the activity, designing it or presenting the various solutions identified in solving the high problems
• Lack of practical and useful outdoor education materials for youth workers that systematically and in detail present a wide range of innovative methods and tools used in outdoor education for young people, tested and applied on different age groups
