Background Text
After describing the origins of the concept of intersectionality, this contribution focuses on women who suffer from multiple discriminations as well as on the response to this situation in recent European documents. Finally it suggests that the intersectional approach provides effective instruments for the analysis of the marginalising racial, ethnic, class and sexual aspects of gender discrimination which NGOs should take into account while working with minority women.
