Training for the YOUTH Trainers on cooperation with EECA Region

This training course was organised by SALTO-YOUTH Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centre in cooperation with Partnership between the European Commission and the Council of Europe.

Training for the YOUTH Trainers on cooperation with EECA Region was split into two stages:

  • First training stage took place between 25-31 August 2006 in Lviv, Ukraine 
  • Second training took place on 11-17 November, 2006 in Strasbourg, France

Participants were committed to attend for the full duration and in both stages of the course.

Aims

  • To prepare YOUTH Trainers, people who will be ready to train youth leaders in order to prepare them for youth international cooperation.
  • To built well-functioning Network of Trainers cooperating closely with the SALTO EECA Resource Centre in further development of the International Youth Cooperation with EECA Region.


Objectives

  • To improve the quality of training activities devoted to the International Youth Cooperation in EECA Countries
  • To create a network of trainers which will work on International Youth Cooperation with EECA region


Participants

Training for the YOUTH Trainers on cooperation with EECA Region brought together 18 voluntary and professional youth workers, youth leaders and project coordinators working directly with youngsters, who wanted to become YOUTH trainers on International Youth Cooperation with EECA Region:

Applicants fulfilled following criteria:

  • Were representatives of the youth organisation or organisation working with young people
  • Had experience of youth work in their country
  • Had basic knowledge about the YOUTH Programme
  • Had non-formal education background
  • Wanted to become trainers in the context of the International Youth Cooperation with EECA region
  • Had experience from minimum 1 International Youth Project (other non-formal education experience would be an additional advantage)
  • Were prepared to actively attend and contribute during the full duration of both training courses
  • Were prepared to participate in follow-up or evaluation activities organised by SALTO-YOUTH network
  • Had ability to communicate in English

Team of the Training for the YOUTH Trainers

The team was composed of experts from the field of Non-Formal Education, with experience of International Cooperation with Partner Countries and Project Management as well as excellent knowledge of the European Community YOUTH Programme.
