Building partnerships for EVS inclusion

The participants are expected to have experience in working with the target group and preferably a basic knowledge of the programme. They should be motivated to coordinate sending and host projects in their country. They should also have knowledge of the legal basis related to volunteering of the unemployed in their countries, as this may be a barrier to EVS particpation because of loss of status, social security and benefits. The focus will be on developing quality projects based on quality partnerships. The partners should be willing to also use other actions of the programme to strengthen their partnerships. A special focus will be on the recruitment (motivation and selection) of volunteers, preparation of all partners, clarification of responsibilities of all partners, the role of the mentor and reintegration of volunteers upon return to home country. It is foreseen that concrete projects (short and long term) will be developed during the seminar. It is also foreseen to include a field trip or a presentation from an organisation that works with the target group. The number of participants should be limited to about 30 to allow for the opportunity to work in depth in creating partnerships and developing projects.
