Green Team

Parcours le Monde IDF is looking for 5 hosting organizations in order to create short term EVS about environment, healthy lifestyle and ecology.

The KA1 project we would like to develop:
For the Round 3 in 2017, we want to present a KA1 project in environmental field. We would like to build a ‘green’ project, because there are few opportunities for short term EVS in this field. The main idea would be how to consume in a responsible way and how to be a minimalist in nowadays society.
Parcours le Monde -IDF provides an intensive mentorship program that combines individual appointments and group sessions for young adults Neither in Employment, nor in Education or Training (NEET).
In fact, we mentor many young adults, who have many skills, however, they are not aware of their capacities. Thus, this short term EVS would allow the youngsters to reveal themselves and be more aware about ecology and environmental responsibility.
Moreover, the volunteers would meet professional and passionate people, who could share their competences and their tips and this would create a real exchange: an exchange of competences and especially, a human exchange. And even, they would meet new people from the hosting country and from all over the world and discover eco-responsible culture. In addition, this project could gather people from all social classes: this would create a social diversity.
Moreover, thanks to the animation of workshops and the sharing of their knowledge about healthy lifestyle. Thus, the volunteers would gain confidence and self-esteem. This project would improve the hosting association, the public and the volunteer.
According to the profile of the young adults we mentor, an EVS in ecologic field would be a great first experience in an intercultural environment. We will not exaggerate a high level of English: the language skills is the principal fear of the volunteers and Parcours le Monde IDF would like to decrease this fear and to show that the language is not an obstacle to live a mobility.
The reinforced mentorship program proposed by Parcours le Monde -IDF entails an average of 23 hours.
- 8 hours minimum of individual appointments per youngster with the counselor.
- 3 hours of individual appointments by telephone/email/Skype with the Volunteer.
- 5 collective workshops:
- Training for departure (2x ½ days)
- Training on return (1x ½ day)
- 1 themed workshop
During their European Voluntary Service, the volunteer can do a lot of missions according to the need of the hosting organization. Theses missions can be:
- Organization of workshops (theatre, draw, photos, music, etc.)
- Organization of intercultural meetings
- Organization of work camp
- Animation of eco-responsable week-end
- Language and intercultural workshop
- Help the team in administration tasks
- Develop the communication skills of the hosting organization (website, Facebook…)
- Promotion of the EVS
- Promotion of the EU and citizenship
