APPROVED TRAINING COURSE! Cross borders in Lithuania (2019-11-04 / 2019-11-13)

By this project we want to help addressing 2 main current issues youth unemployment and the refugee/ migration crises.

By this project we want to help addressing 2 main current issues youth unemployment and the refugee/ migration crises. We consider these issues to be among the greatest challenges facing society today and in the future. According to the IOM, there are now some 65 million refugees fleeing from war and poverty. Over a million those immigrants and refugees entered Europe since 2015. This is a global problem which calls for joint efforts to achieve sustainable solutions. Hence, project seeks enable youth workers to contribute to turning the challenges into opportunities for all stakeholders. The related youth unemployment, forces young people to seek a better life in other countries. In the new countries, those immigrant youth often face social exclusion, discrimination and marginalisation. As immigrants, many of them lack support from youth organisations that are not prepared to include immigrant youth in the youth associations in the host societies. The recent surge of refugees into Europe has triggered rise in xenophobia and political reoric against immigrants and refugees.
Therefore, the objectives of the project are to:
• build youth workers’ capacity in youth/community work, possibilities of community engagement and migrant integration in society
• cooperate with diverse organizations and target groups in the field of youth work
• share good practices and experiences among partner organizations in relation to community engagement and migrant integration
• foster intercultural interaction and collaboration through non-formal methods of community engagement and workshops in schools
• facilitate reflection on different dimensions of migration and mobility trends in Europe and the wider world
• build new partnerships among participating organisations and youth workers
• exchange experience and good practice in youth work, related to international migration and mobility
• raising the competence of youth workers and youth leaders about the push and pull factors of migration and consequences
• promote European cooperation among youth organizations to promote youth mobility and engage youth with immigrant background.
