Academy of Ukrainian Youth

Academy of Ukrainian Youth was officially registered in September 2002 as a non-governmental, non-profit organization; however it existed earlier as a non-formal group of young people and for young people. Academy of Ukrainian Youth enables young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and in the development of their communities. We follow active citizenship, personality approach and Christian values in our activities.

Organization has youth club in Lviv with 50 members (boys and girls in the 6-18 age groups) and lot of voluntary adult leaders.

Organization creates possibilities for children and youth for their personal and professional development; involves youth to active participation in a social life; unites youth from different countries; supports youth initiatives; promotes non-formal education, voluntary work and intercultural learning.

Academy of Ukrainian Youth main activities:
- “Youth centre” (leisure and educational programs, free-time activities for children and youth; language, European and film clubs for teenagers and students)
- leadership trainings, seminars, summer schools,
- social work (volunteering program in the children department of Lviv psychiatric hospital)
- organisation of charity action “Saint Nicholas will not forget about you” (involves up to 600 local volunteers, bring presents to the homes to 4000 children in Lviv),
- international projects (youth exchanges, cross-border cooperation, “European Days of Neighborhood”),
- publication of materials for youth leaders and volunteers,
- promotion of Youth in Action programme for local organisations and youth.

Academy of Ukrainian Youth is hosting and sending EVS organisation.
