Value the Difference: Youth Subcultures

Am I the right person for this course? Participants should... - be 18 years old or older - work directly with young people on daily basis - work with / interested in working with young people from different subcultures - want to reflect and share experiences on working practices with diverse youth groups - have an interest in cultural diversity as a topic - feel confident to express themselves in English about these topics - be motivated to work on the topic of cultural diversity in the youth field - be interested in Youth in Action programme as a tool for working with cultural deversity - be committed to attend the full duration of the course Is this training course something that would interest you? The objectives of this training course are: - To reflect critically about personal and cultural identity - To gain a greater understanding of cultural diversity in different local and national realities - To develop intercultural skills and competences related to working with young people from various subcultures - To explore ways in which participants can generate (foster/create etc) a more tolerant society - To better understand concepts which related to of the themes/topics of CD (stereotyping, prejudice, manipulation of culture etc) - To get inspired to carry out future international youth projects through YiA programme and other resource possibilities Please see below for the draft programme for Value the Difference: Youth Subcultures.
