Seminar on the European Youth Capital and its link to the EU Youth Policy

This activity wants to offer space for the organizers, partners and participants of the past, present and future European Youth Capitals to exchange examples of good practice, to review the past achievements of the EYC initiative, explore its current or/and possible link to the EU youth policy and develop recommendations for the future. The activity is hosted and organized by the Slovenian National Agency of the Youth in Action Programme in cooperation with the Office of the European Youth Capital Maribor 2013 and the Youth in Action National Agencies of the countries of past and future European Youth Capitals (NL, PT, BE-FL, IT, RO, GR National Agencies of the YIA programme). In the seminar participants will explore the achievements of the "European youth capital" initiative, develop recommendation for the future and exchange the example of good practices. All the information gathered on the seminar will be presented in the brochure that will be published after the seminar. The Seminar European Youth Capital and Its Link to the EU Youth Policy is open to organisers, partners and participants from former and future European Youth Capitals from Slovenia, Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Romania and Greece. Delegations should consist of 3-5 participants, preferably: • one being from National youth council (or other institution on the national youth policy level), • one from youth organisation, directly involved in the planning or implementation of EYC activities and • one or two coming from organising structures of the EYC. Participants should be over 18 years old. Working language of the seminar will be English, so participants must be able to work in English language.
