The Hungarian and the French NAs in cooperation with the SALTO Inclusion Resource Centre are organising a Long Term Training Course to stimulate more inclusive (international) youth projects in disadvantaged (sub)Urban settings.

Long Term Training Course Urban Youth (LTTC Urban Youth) will explore and analyze inclusive youth work and the potential of international youth projects in achieving inclusion.

Participants should be committed to increase the involvement of young people with fewer opportunities living in disadvantaged (sub)urban areas.

The LTTC will consist of two residential seminars and a practical period between the two training courses when participants are explore the potential of international projects – stimulate and support them to realize with the support of the trainers team.

Dates & Venue
•The first residential seminar will take place in Budapest, 6 (arrival date) till 11 Sunday December 2011 (departure day)
•The second residential will take place in Marseille, January 2013 (the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2013)

Programme Elements
•Overview of the communalities and different realities of young people in (sub)urban areas in represented countries
•Theoretical inputs on background and quality aspects of inclusive urban youth work including street based practices
•Linking theory to practice/practice to theory
•Presentation of former youth projects in disadvantaged (sub)urban areas at a local and an international level- analyzing challenges and methods
•Discovering potential impacts of inclusive international youth project
•Visits to local projects
•Exchanging resources (tools, methods, approaches, etc.) relevant for increasing inclusion of young people in disadvantaged (sub)urban areas
•Information and resources on further learning, funding opportunities
•Professional support and coaching for further learning and for the realization of projects for the full duration of the LTTC
•Guidance through a Individual and Collaborative learning process

Target Group of the Seminar
There will be places for 25 participants at the training, selected according to the criteria below:
•Directly working on a regular basis with young people with fewer opportunities living in disadvantaged (sub)urban areas and committed to inclusive practices - voluntary or paid youth workers, social workers, street workers, educators, peer educators, etc.
•Interested in exploring and organizing international youth projects in the (sub)urban area - either within the Youth in Action programme or under other programmes or initiatives.
•Confident in and able to communicate in (international) English
•Available to actively participate in the full duration of the course (including both residential events).
•Committed to involvement in transnational projects between the two residential (study visits, projects for young people, etc.).
•Contribute to a follow-up by filling in a questionnaire 6 months after the training course.

Costs

Hosting costs will be covered by the Hungarian and the French NA. In case your are selected, the sending costs for participants will be reimbursed by the sending NAs, depending on the national regulations. Please check the financial conditions with your sending National Agency.
