The conference aims to promote the potential of non-formal education in youth work and its better linkage to the current challenges faced by young people in their life
; either in their employability on the labor market or as active citizens in the community.
You can expect interesting speakers, inspirational and interactive workshops not only in the environment of non-formal education in youth work but also in the business environment and discussions about the future of non-formal education in youth work. For more information see draft of the program.
Objectives:
- to reflect on how to better use the potential of non-formal education and what it should be directed at within youth work?
- to introduce new trends in young people’s education beyond formal education?
- To rise awareness what do employers require from young people on interviews and what can we do with it in our work
- to explore ways how to support participants in non-formal education so that they improve their awareness of what they learn and how can they use it
Main target group:
• Age 18+
• Youth workers / trainers, who apply non-formal education in their work (either in their organisations or as job) and have at least 1 year of experience in this area
• Preference will have participants which can influence content and quality of non-formal education in their organisations or other insitutions.
• Preferably speak english (slovak and czech also acceptable)
Secondary target group:
• People from business sector who are interested about how non-formal education with young people works
• Students of pedagogy interested in non-formal education who are also involved in youth work (as youth leaders/workers)

Costs
This project is co-financed by the Youth in Action Programme and other funds.
Being selected by sending NA for this conference, all costs (accommodation, travel, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
We should also accept few participants who won´t be selected by their sending NAs but they have to cover their travel costs.
