EVS mentors International seminar

17-20 April 2013 | Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Meeting point for EVS mentors from Programme countries. The participants will share their experiences, acquire new tools, analyze their role as mentor and establish partnership.

The EVS mentors international seminar is a forum for mentors wishing to exchange good practices and experience related to the different aspects of their daily activity as EVS mentor (giving personal support to volunteers, supporting them in the integration in the local community, providing them support for the their learning /Youthpass process, inclusion of youngesters with less opportunities, conflict prevention and management). Moreover during the seminar participants will analyze the needs of the mentors and to elaborate proposals to improve the quality of their mentorship. The main aim of this seminar is to support EVS mentors in developing good quality mentorship of European volunteers. Specific objectives are: - To offer space for EVS mentors to exchange their good practices and experience as mentors of European volunteers. - To analyze and think about the role of mentor in the host organization. - To identify and debate on the specific needs of mentors such as training, recognition, responsabilities and to elaborate proposals focusing on the improvement of the quality of their mentorship activity. - To contribute the creation of an international working-net to improve the communication between EVS mentors at European level.
