European Rural Youth - Make New Contacts!

Partnership-building Activity

10-15 April 2012 | Youth Centre Marttinen, Virrat, Finland

The Contact Making Seminar "European Rural Youth" aims to bring together youth workers from rural areas and explore the possibilities of international cooperation in small scale places in Europe.
The contact making seminar will bring together around 25 youth workers from different rural areas of Europe to make partnerships and start international activities together. Priority for participants from Finland, Austria, Croatia, Estonia, Ireland, Lithuania, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey, Iceland, Netherlands and Belarus is given. Participants should work directly with a group of young people in their area and they should be curious about the possibility of international youth projects. You can work as a youth worker, social worker, volunteer, youth leader or group leader, as long as you have an opportunity to engage in projects later. The training will give you insight to the Youth in Action possibilities and you will get a basic knowledge about the programme opportunities. We will also explore the possibilities how to start international cooperation in rural areas and plan projects together. The event will facilitate partner finding, but it will also give an opportunity to plan projects together. The contact making seminar is organised in Virrat, a rural area in Finland with a youth centre. http://www.marttinen.fi/marttinen2010/artikkeli/5/ We will organise a common bus transfer from Helsinki to Virrat on Monday evening - and also back on Sunday. We have opened this event for the Belarussian youth activists too. The Finnish National Agency will cover the travel costs, visa costs and the participation fees of 2-3 Belarussian youth workers who match the profile.
