Training Course

7-14 September 2019 | Lipari, Italy

Training for Trainers, Facilitators and Youth-Workers on the board of the boat. Dedicated to the Training and Facilitation skills of youth-workers and youth-trainers via use of participant's experience of boat crew activity.

A seven-days training course dedicated to the major knowledge, skills and attitude of Youth Workers, Youth Trainers and Facilitators working the field of non-formal learning and youth work. We will spend one week on board of the yacht, having 8-hours training sessions daily and enforcing our skills via boat crew experience.  

Our planned venue is: an area of Lipari islands, Italy.

Every day we will spend eight hours in training-room, working on new knowledge, practicing and perfecting your skills. Please find the detailed plan below.

The route and a program might be modified in order to be more effective and brind better output for participants, same as due to weather conditions. We are flexible. But we cannot reduce the amount of training hours: we only may increase it if you wish. 

The food and accommodation is fully provided by the organisers: you only need to get to the starting point. And in a week we all say Goodbye on the end-point. 

The preliminary high-level training program is:

  • Brief intro to Youth Work and Trainers Role; (4 hrs)
  • Researching your target audience;  (4 hrs)
  • Strategic planning and detailed development of your Training Course; (4 hrs)
  • Fulfillment of your Training Course; (8 hrs)
  • Presentation of the ideas, Body Language of Trainer; (12 hrs)
  • Art of Persuasion; (6 hrs)
  • Secrtets of the group dynamic; (6 hrs)
  • Time-management for Youth Trainer; (4 hrs)
  • Getting Things Done; (4 hrs)
  • Smaller topics and "Open Space"; (up to 6 hrs)

Informal Learning Impact: You also will learn the art of sealing, if you wish: how to manage the boat-trip, what is yachting, how to overcome bad weather and sail upwind, and other tricks of seamanship. You will practice the teambuilding activities as a real boat-crew.

Whom this Training Course designed for: (the participant profile): 

  • Junior Youth Trainers, working the field of non-formal learning and youth work and desired to update own professional level;
  • Mid- and Senior- Youth Workers who need to provide more training activities with groups;
  • Skilled trainers, who look for new inspiration and meeting with peers;
  • Facilitators and future facilitators, working the field of non-formal learning and youth work, who want to learn and perfect the art of facilitation;

Costs

Participation fee

The Participation Fee is 900 euro. It should be paid in advance by bank transfer and used for preliminary boat booking and insurance.

In a case you invite your colleagues and/or co-workers to the event (you should be ready to send us their names, they should confirm that they were invited by you, and they should be ready to pay full participation fee) - you may get a special loyality discount of EUR 100 (Participation fee for you will be EUR 800). For that case please email us directly. Your friends have no need to fill this application form - only you.

You can apply together with your companion. For that case you should pay special fee of EUR 850 per person instead.

Accommodation and food

As mentioned above, the accommodation and food are fully provided. The Participants Fees are used for project needs:

  • Boat rent (about EUR 4000);
  • Supply (about EUR 900);
  • Additional costs of organizing a comfortablwe environment: (Fuel and Parking time for boat, safety equipement, renting an additional small boat forfree-time events, room service, catering, crew service - EUR 1400);
  • Training Session Needs (About EUR 700)
