Difference Meets Tolerance
Intercultural learning as the educational concept for Youth Exchanges, Youth Democracy Projects, European Voluntary Services, and Training and Networking of those active in youth work and youth organisations.
This is a training offer for those, who would like to know more about the concept of intercultural learning as an educational approach for projects within the context of the Youth in Action Programme. Many youth leaders have already made significant intercultural experiences themselves, but have difficulties to put intercultural learning as a planned and structured process into practice and into projects.
This is where this training course comes in: Starting from the experiences of the participants, we will actively deal with elements of this concept during the training course through experiential learning. We will focus on aspects of social attitudes, modes of perception, and the resulting behaviour, because they are determinant elements of any process of intercultural communication and interaction. The active involvement of the participants will be an integral part of the entire learning process.
Accordingly, we will deal with conditions for intercultural learning and we will reflect on culture and cultural identity. Further on, we will work on competences that young people and youth workers need to develop to be interculturally competent.
During the training we will also have a look at the new demands of the Youth in Action Programme. Within the context of Youthpass, the new instrument for the recognition and validation of non-formal learning within the Youth in Action Programme, the participants are invited to set their own learning objectives for the training course and to assess their learning outcomes.
