Yes Learning - self-directed learning and the Youthpass process in Youth in Action projects

Training Course

9-14 June 2013 | Oberwesel, Germany

Exploring and developing the competence to facilitate and support the Youthpass process /self-directed learning in Youth in Action projects
The introduction of the Youthpass brought the focus on learning in the Youth in Action programme. The facilitation of learning became and still is a central issue in discussions amongst youth workers, trainers, mentors and coaches working in the Youth in Action programme. New insights and ideas about how people learn challenge us to rethink learning and the facilitation of learning. This course wants to dive into this exciting discussion. How can we facilitate the learning process of young people that participate in the Youth in Action programme. What is our approach, what is our new role as youth workers, trainers, mentors and coaches? The course will start from your own experience as a learner. How do you learn, what are your challenges, what are new and different ways of learning? From there we will look at how we connect these insights with the facilitation of the learning of others. Target group: youth workers/leaders, mentors, coaches, trainers and young people active in Youth Initiative Projects Aim: To explore and develop the competence to facilitate and support the Youthpass Process /self-directed learning Objectives: - to explore and review concepts of (non-formal) learning - to explore your own personal learning path - to develop the understanding of self-directed learning - to experience different methods of reflection of learning - to explore how and why to recognise and document learning During the training course the different objectives will be addressed as well from the perspective of yourself as a learner as in your role as a facilitator of learning (youth worker/trainer/mentor/coach).
