Pandaship - Partnership Building between Chinese and European Youth Workers

Partnership-building Activity

10-14 April 2012 | Vienna, Austria

This Partner Ship Building Seminar is a follow up activitiy of the EU China Year of Youth 2011 and aims at building networks between China and Europe in the youthfield, which lead to common projects.
Introduction & Background 2011 has been the EU-China Year of Youth – several events in China and Europe opened young people and those active in youth work possibilities for mutual exchange, experiencing new cultures and lifestyles, discovering new countries, but at the same time finding out about common grounds. One of the main objectives of this year has been successfully achieved: the promotion of intercultural dialogue and strengthening of mutual understanding and friendship between European and Chinese youth. For further information on the EU-China Year of Youth please see: http://www.2011euchinayouth.eu/ With this Partnership Building Seminar we would like to go one step further and tackle another objective of the EU-China Year of Youth: Achieve extensive and positive impact and help ensure that cooperation between policy makers as well as between youth organizations is sustainable beyond 2011. Around 20 participants from China and the European Union are invited to meet in Vienna, get to know and exchange each other and define first ideas for common projects. Chinese and European funding possibilities for future projects shall be identified (e.g. centralized call from the European Commission, Youth in Action Programme: Action 3.2, Youth in the world: Cooperation with countries other than the neighbouring countries of the European Union) as a basis for concrete cooperation. The overall frame of this partnership building seminar is the topic of intercultural dialogue and exchange. A team of one experienced trainer and lingusitic support staff will follow the learner centred approach and work with methods of non formal learning, according to the needs of partipants. Aims & Objectives: - Enhance intercultural dialogue and intensify relations between China and EU in the youth field - Create an atmosphere of common understanding between people representing different cultures, working styles, etc.; - Build new partnerships between organisations from China and the EU; - Bring together people active in the international youth field in order to create new project ideas; - Provide knowledge about funding opportunities for the cooperation between European and Chinese organisations in the international youth field - Give an introduction in the project management of international youth projects - Present best practice examples of successful and fruitful cooperation between China and EU in the youth field The seminar will be held in English; interpreters Chinese (Mandarin) - English will be provided throughout the seminar.
