Do you want to create a new partnership with organisations from the Youth in Action Programme Countries (i.e., EU, Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Turkey, Croatia, Switzerland) and Eastern Europe and Caucasus (i.e., Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine)?

Date and Venue

Four full working days - arrival 6th June until evening (Monday), departure 11th June from morning (Saturday) 2011.

Place: beautiful Moldova :-)

Aim

The aim of the CMS “East&West Included” was to motivate and bring in contact project organisers from Programme Countries and EECA countries for organising European Voluntary Serivse (EVS) projects in rural areas within the Youth in Action Programme.

Objectives

  • to facilitate contact making and the first steps of project development.
  • to prepare participants for organising EVS projects in rural areas within the Youth in Action Programme.
  • to strenght the network of sending and hosting EVS organisations in rural areas of the YiA programme countries and Eastern Europe and Caucasus countries.
  • to strength the cooperation and develop new projects between EVS organisations from Programme countries and EECA region

Participants

CMS "East&West Included" brought together 23 voluntary and professional youth workers from Programme and EECA region: youth leaders and project coordinators working directly with youngsters, who are interested in setting up EVS projects in rural areas.

Participants profile:

  • The participants should be from an organisation motivated to be in an EVS project
  • Have interest in rural youth work
  • Have motivation in developing projects under the Youth in Action programme.
  • Be entitled to initiate projects on behalf of their organisation
  • Available to actively attend the full duration of the course
  • Able to communicate in English, the working language of the seminar


SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection was carried out by organisers of the seminar, based on the criteria specified in the "participants profile" section.

The applicants were requested to fill in the on-line application form. The call for participants was open till 4th of May 2011.

The selected participants were informed directly till 12th of May 2011.

Team of the trainers

Team was composed of 2 trainers experienced in international cooperation within European Community Youth in Action Programm and espesially in European Voluntary Service in rural areas.

Moreover the representatives of Austrian National Agency of the YiA Programme as well as the the representatives of the SALTO Inclusion and SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centres joined the team.

Organisers

This activity was organised by the Austrian, Dannish and British National Agencies of the Youth in Action Programme together with the SALTO Inclusion and SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centres.

Financial Conditions

  • The board and lodging during the training course for all participants was provided by organisers,
  • Travel costs of participants from Eastern Europe and Caucasus were covered by organisers on the basis of original tickets and invoices,
  • Travel costs of participants from Programme Countries were paid by relevant National Agency on its own principles.
