TC 'Eastern Express' in 2007

Date and Venue

EASTERN EXPRESS TC took place from 9 - 15 July 2007 in Lviv, Ukraine.

Participants

EASTERN EXPRESS TC brought together 14 voluntary and professional youth workers from Programme and EECA region: youth leaders and project coordinators working directly with youngsters, who are interested in setting up international youth projects.

Applicants from Programme countries fulfilled following criteria:

• representative of the youth organisation or organisation working with young people, who is able and authorized on behalf of its organisation to create future projects ideas within Youth in Action Programme;
• basic knowledge about Youth in Action Programme (knowledge of previous Youth Programme would be advantage );
• experience from minimum 1 multilateral youth exchange project within Youth Programme (experience in projects with Partner countries would be an asset; other non-formal education experience would be an additional advantage);
• willingness to participate in follow-up or evaluation activities organised by SALTO-YOUTH network;
• active participation and contribution during the full duration of the TC;
• ability to communicate in English;

Applicants from Eastern Europe and Caucasus countries fulfilled following criteria:

• basic knowledge about the Youth in Action Programme;
• experience in youth work in their country;
• readiness to develop new youth projects;
• non-formal learning background;
• willingness to participate in follow-up or evaluation activities organised by SALTO-YOUTH network;
• active participation and contribution during the full duration of the TC;
• ability to communicate in English;

Team of the Training Course

The team was composed of experts from the field of youth projects, with experience in Project Management and cooperation with Partner Countries as well as excellent knowledge of the European Community Youth in Action Programme, in particular Action 3.1.

Programme elements

5-days training course:

• Youth in Action Programme presentation with special focus on cooperation with EECA countries within Action 3.1 projects;
• How to find partners?
• How to organize successful Youth Exchange project?
• Youth Exchange Project Management within Youth in Action Programme (including basic elements of risk management);
• Intercultural learning in youth projects;
• Partnership in youth projects;
• Support activities for Youth Exchanges in Youth in Action Programme;

Working language was English.

 

Financial Conditions

• Polish National Agency of the Youth in Action Programme will provide board and lodging for all participants,
• Travel costs of participants from Eastern Europe and Caucasus will be reimbursed by SALTO EECA RC during the event on the basis of original tickets and invoices,
• Travel costs of participants from Programme Countries will be paid by relevant National Agency on its own principles.

Selection Procedure

The selection will be carried out by SALTO EECA RC and relevant National Agencies, based on the criteria specified in the "applicants' criteria" section. The selected participants will be informed directly by May 19th 2007.
