TC 'Eastern Express' in 2013

Date and Venue

EASTERN EXPRESS TC will take place from 18th till 24th March 2013 in Ukraine.

Aims

"Eastern Express" training course aims at rising quality of Youth Exchanges within Action 3.1 of Youth in Action (YiA) Programme, especially in cooperation between Programme and Eastern Europe and Caucasus (EECA) countries.

Objectives

• Create opportunities for building partnerships (through creating trustworthy relations);
• Increase knowledge about essentials of Youth in Action and 3.1 in particular (aims, priorities and formal criteria);
• Increase understanding of quality demands of the youth exchanges with special attention to active youth participation.

Programme elements

• How to organize successful Youth Exchange project with Programme and Neighbouring Partner Countries from Eastern Europe and Caucasus?
• Youth Exchange Project Management within Youth in Action Programme - focus on quality;
• Partnership in youth projects;
• Intercultural learning in youth projects;
• Support measures for Youth Exchanges in Youth in Action Programme.

Participants

EASTERN EXPRESS TC will bring together 35 youth workers from Programme Countries and EECA region: youth leaders and project coordinators working directly with youngsters who are interested in setting up international youth projects.

Participants profile:

• active youth worker;
• ready to develop new Youth Exchange projects within Youth in Action Programme, action 3.1;
• able to work in English.

At the Eastern Express TC participants will work in the project groups and prepare the youth exchange; everybody will be encouraged to implement a youth exchange afterwards.

Active participation and contribution during the full duration of the TC is required.

Selection Procedure

The selection will be carried out by SALTO EECA RC and relevant National Agencies of the Youth in Action Programme, based on the criteria specified in the "participants profile" section. The applicants are requested to fill in the on-line application form till 3rd February 2013. Applicants will be informed about final decisions by 20th February.

Team of the Training Course

The team will be composed of three professional trainers with excelent experience in Youth Exchange Project Management and cooperation with EECA Partner Countries as well as knowledge of the European Community Youth in Action Programme, in particular Action 3.1.

We are looking for 3 trainers, who will be involved in preparation and implementation of the „Eastern Express" TC. The team will be preferably composed from one trainer form EECA country and one from a Programme Country. Call for trainers is here.

Moreover, representatives from SALTO EECA as well as from Finnish and Danish National Agencies of the YiA Programme will join the team.

Organisers

This Training Course will be co-organised by Finnish and Danish National Agencies of the Youth in Action (YiA) Programme together with SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus (SALTO EECA) Resource Centre.

Financial Conditions

• The board and lodging during the training course for all participants will be provided by organisers;
• Travel costs of participants from Eastern Europe and Caucasus will be covered by SALTO EECA RC;
• Travel costs of participants from Programme Countries will be paid by relevant National Agency on its own principles.
