Topic

Training Course "Project Factory" was part of the SALTO Inclusion a longer-term strategic approach to reach these disenfranchised young people who are excluded from the system and see how we can reconnect them to society and improve their opportunities in life.

The first cross-sectorial seminar on youth at risk and in NEET situation took place in October 2014, in Finland www.salto-youth.net/neetseminar and was focused on gaining a better understanding of NEET terminology, concepts etc.

In May 2015, “iNEETiative” seminar brought together 30 different stakeholders to explore methods to intervene and reach out to youth at risk and in NEET situation.

This training course, "Project Factory" brought together 30 different stakeholders (formal, non-normal, social & business sector) to develop long-term partnerships and projects involving and targeting youth at risk and in a NEET situation.

Aim of the training course

To create bridges and sustainable cooperation between the youth and other sectors in order to use E+: Youth in Action programme to reduce the numbers of young people at risk and in NEET situation by creating better opportunities for them. 

Main Objectives:

  • To make a better use of the Erasmus+: Youth in Action programme, especially of Youth Exchanges, EVS and Transnational Youth Initiatives in addressing the issues that youth at risk and NEET are facing.
  • To find new partners, explore possibilities and develop cross-sectorial partnership projects for youth at risk & in NEET situation
  • To develop an understanding of the Erasmus+:Youth in Action project lifecycle
  • To exchange about possible ways to work together and methods to intervene
  • To get to know different realities and share good practices

Participants' profile

30 profesionals with experience working on the issue of vulnerable young people in NEET situations (face-to-face workers as well as managers/decision makers).

  • Social workers, representatives of social services
  • Researchers, academics with focus on NEET
  • Local authorities/policy makers responsible for social provision
  • Employers, apprenticeships programmes, employment agencies, job centres, job clubs, job coaches…
