Dealing with Diversity II
This training aims to develop the ability of youth workers to work with young people that have problems in dealing with change and diversity in society and how to work with young people in order to make them more tolerant and flexible.
After the overwhelming succes of and the great interest in the training Dealing with Diversity that took place in January 2005, we have decided to organise this training again. The topic is still very much of current interest...
The world we live in is changing in an ever increasing pace. The changes take place at all levels of society: from a changing world order and an expanding European Community to an increasingly international learning or work environment.
In a fast changing society the ability to deal with change and diversity is crucial. For some people the reaction to these changes is intolerance or an incapability to deal with diversity. Youth workers have a responsibility in helping youngsters to develop their abilities to deal with this issue.
Projects in the framework of the Youth in Action programme can be tools for youth workers to influence and challenge groups and individuals towards more tolerant and flexible ways. This training wants to make sure this happens.
- To develop the ability of youth workers to use the Youth in Action programme as a tool for influencing groups of young people in dealing with diversity in society in a positive way.
- To develop the ability of youth workers to positively influence intolerant groups or groups that have difficulty in dealing with diversity.
- To stimulate participants in developing new projects within the framework of the Youth in Action programme in all the Actions
- To present the Youth in Action programme as a tool for raising personal and international competences.
