Intercultural Dialogue Seminar

13-17 February 2008 | Mardin, Türkiye

Taking the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue as an inspiration and springboard, the seminar will look at both the themes of culture and dialogue and what happens at their point of interrelation.
The 3-day programme will provide a platform for sharing of opinions, for learning about different youth work realities, for increasing the horizons of youth leaders on the topic, and for being inspired by the local intercultural community approaches. Defining together the concept of Intercultural Dialogue, the programme will then provide small working groups and workshop spaces to develop knowledge and competences connected to themes around culture and dialogue. The delivery of the seminar will be in a very practical way, including participants learning from each other and providing new tools and resources on overcoming barriers to Intercultural Dialogue that could be implemented afterwards across Europe. The content of the seminar will be channelled into a resource folder that itself will be a tool on ICD for youth leaders - profiting from the opportunity of bringing together approximately 70 people to discuss this issue.

Costs

Turkish NA pays host costs. If they have a budget, the Sending NA pays travel costs (please check with them first). There is also a possibility to pay a participation fee (between €20 - €100 per person).
