Authors

Application deadline:

5.07.2020, 23:59 CET

Description

The European Solidarity Corps Resource Centre (RC) provides assistance in the implementation of the European Solidarity Corps programme to the European Commission, the network of National Agencies (NAs) and SALTO Resource Centres, to stakeholders, organisations and participants. For more information: www.salto-youth.net/rc/solidarity/

The RC explores the concept of solidarity in the framework of the European Solidarity Corps, contributing to a general discussion on and a common understanding of solidarity. A first output of this exploration is the research “4Thoughts for Solidarity” available here.

To offer a platform for participating in debates on different aspects and understanding of solidarity, the Resource Centre launched a series of events under the title: “Europe talks Solidarity”. The first activities were an online public launch of the report “4Thought for Solidarity” and a webinar “Bridges to European Solidarity Corps programme”, the recording for both events can be found here. As next step in this process, a series of articles will be published.

In order to further explore and deepen the understanding of solidarity in Europe and beyond, the RC invites researchers, practitioners, young people, policy makers to share their view on and in-depth analysis of the connection of solidarity with:

  • International youth work
  • Participation
  • Inclusion
  • Solidarity in the European Solidarity Corps
  • Human Rights
  • Sustainable Solidarity
  • Other

Topics of interest for submission include the above-mentioned topics but are not limited to them. To suggest additional topics, please select in the application form the “other” option and elaborate your proposal.

The expected outputs are elaborate and well-founded articles that connect the understanding of solidarity in the above-mentioned fields. In order to allow more people to contribute, one author can propose more abstracts to tackle one or more mentioned topic, but in the end the RC team will select maximum one article per author. The topics can be linked as well (e.g. participation + youth work + solidarity).

The articles will be published on the RC website and most probably in an online magazine / brochure. When thinking of an article, please have in mind the audience of the RC which is composed by: staff that works in different National Agencies for European Solidarity Corps programme, colleagues from other SALTO Resource Centres (SALTOs), youth workers active in international youth work, youth leaders, volunteers and other beneficiaries.
