EVS Coordinator and trainer (part time) plus illustrator (free artist)

Work experience

In GAIA Alentejo, a Portuguese environmental NGO, I've been coordinating EVS hosting and sending projects, with partners in Europe plus Ecuador, Peru, East Timor and Morocco. I'm responsible for implementing EVS training events outside of Europe. Since 2013 I'm part of the Portuguese NA pool of trainers.
In the field of community development, mainly in rural context, I've been creating and participating in different experiences of participation and people lead (bottom up) initiatives. I choose to work at grass-roots level, horizontal structures, with consensus decision making and in groups that seek creative and positive solutions to local challenges.

Educational pathway

After completing my graduation (5 years superior degree) in arts conservation and restoration, I've dived inside the Youth in Action programme and experienced hands-on EVS, youth exchanges, seminaires, future capital and youth initiatives. All these intercultural experiences of informal, non-formal and formal education are at the base of my present work and have allowed me to understand and create non-formal education methodology.
